Canada Opens the Door to More Gambling Opportunities

Another Canadian province, Manitoba, has become the latest to launch state-run online gambling. Representatives have just announced that they have partnered with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation to create an online casino games website that will hit the market in 2013.

The Manitoba Lotteries made the decision to begin its own top rated online casino games website because it saw the loss of millions of dollars in revenue from illegal gaming sites. With this move, the province stands to gain about $37 million annually as well as the knowledge that its citizens are playing in a legal and secure environment.

According to the deal made with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, BCLC and GTECH G2 will be responsible for the website design, development and testing services, while Manitoba Lotteries will manage the daily operation. The online casino games website is set to debut in the first quarter of 2013. The site hopes to become one of the best no deposit casinos online with an array of casino games and poker.

The province is exploring the possibility of including online bingo and sports betting on the casino site as well. The Manitoba Lotteries estimate that they stand to make approximately $1.5 million in net income in the first year of the site’s operation. At that rate, they hope to see the revenue rise to $17 million by 2018. It has already been decided that five percent of the revenue generated will go directly into responsible gambling and anti-addiction programs.
