Playtech Announces New Branded Slot Release

By Maria McCoyGoogle

Solidifying its position as a leader in the online slots market, Playtech has announced that they will be releasing a new slot game in the summer of 2012.  The new branded slot game will be released in cooperation with the media company Platinum Studios known for their comic franchises.  The theme of the game will be “Cowboys & Aliens,” a 2006 graphic novel recently released as a big-budget Hollywood blockbuster.

“Cowboys & Aliens,” originally written by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg in 2006 as a graphic novel, tells the story of an isolated nineteenth century town in the Wild West fighting to release friends and relatives kidnapped by aliens.  Online casino reviews say that the two themes of the film, aliens and Wild West, are both popular among slot players; Playtech is smart for jumping on the mixed-genre bandwagon.  The duel-genre film will provide a lot of great material for Playtech’s developers.

Playtech and Platinum Studios have worked on similar deals in the past, most notably with the Iron Man franchise.  Both “Iron Man” and “Iron Man 2,” which were incidentally directed by “Cowboys & Aliens “ director Jon Favreau, were converted into successful slot games by Playtech currently available at the best online casinos.  The creator of the “Cowboys & Aliens” novel who is now CEO of Platinum expressed his excitement that people will be able to play “Cowboys & Aliens” themed games at home on a top rated online casino, and said that he expects the game to be successful like the movie.

The head of content at Playtech, Sagi Harari, said that he expects the new game to catch on quick due to its recognizability.  He further stated that its beginnings as a graphic novel fit in well with Playtech’s current portfolio.
