Playtech Strengthens Position in 2012

Top online casino games software platform, Playtech, has released its Q1 figures for the beginning of 2012 and the company continued to perform considerably well. Playtech has built upon the successes it achieved in 2011.

Gross income for the company went up by thirteen percent, to €88.4 million and total revenue increased by eight percent to €75.1 million. In comparison to the figures from Q1 of 2011, Playtech has advanced significantly. Representatives for the company have also made it known that performance in the first 31 days of Q2 of 2012 is marginally better compared to the first quarter.

Information about the status of Playtech’s various projects was also released. Over the past year, the company acquired some smaller online casino games companies. The integration and results from the Geneity, Mobenga and Ash Gaming acquisitions are ahead of expectations. The Gauselmann partnership, in which Playtech is working with Merkur Interactive GmbH, has moved ahead and the companies will begin providing online casino games geared toward the German market.

Top rated online casinos that have licenses from Playtech, including Bet365, Betsson, Sportingbet, and Unibet, have launched in the newly regulated Danish market. Additionally, several licensees are preparing for a launch in the Spanish market, when new regulations in the country take effect in the later part of 2012.

The company is also looking ahead and has released information that it has signed a deal with Freemantle to debut branded online slot games based on reality shows like Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor.
